interior design of a Café / Restaurant, Roastery and the Forth Bar.
Forth is a building, a project, an atmosphere. The Forth space is a monument of Winnipeg history, a space that builds community and inspires collaboration, housing a complex of unified zones and businesses on multiple levels.
For this heritage project, I drove the interior design of the Coffee House / Restaurant, the Roastery of Dogwood Coffee, and the Forth Bar in the basement. It included everything from the architecture of the central stairways and the atrium connecting the basement with the main level, to the counters, terrace furniture, and shelves for presenting locally-made goods.
The design concept blended the cold of concrete with the warmth of leather and wood across all spaces, inside and out. We thereby created a contrasting yet cozy space suited to Canada’s drastically changing seasons.
